In 2020 I re-discovered clay as a material very potent to work with. It acts like a mirror and stores all the imprints. It teaches me patience, modesty and non-attachment. It connects me deeply to mother earth and my somatic experience.
I love its tactility, its flexibility and strength, its massiveness and fineness. Working on the wheel gets you centered, it is mesmerizing and meditative. Clay opens its potential gradually through commitment and dedication, it is not an easy gain. There is an abundance to learn about clay, modeling techniques, glazing and firing. A world I don´t want to miss anymore in my life.
In 2021 I happily embarked on a part-time study of Ceramic Arts at the Otago Polytechnic, the Dunedin School of Art and completed it with a Diploma (Level 5) end of 2022. Today, I am gradually starting up a small business as a potter to complement my work as a therapist.
